Former Use: The State of Mississippi currently owns McBride Oil Company Property. McBride operated at the location between 1947 and 1987. The property has been unused for more than 20 years. Fuel tanks remain on the property. A Phase I ESA reported that approximately 20 unlabeled, corroded 55-gallon drums were identified in the southeastern corner of the property. Fluids were also reported contained in some of the drums in the area. Sanborne maps indicates a gasoline tank was located on the western portion of the property between 1926 and 1945. Further investigation is recommended to evaluate potential impact to soil and groundwater at the property. An asbestos inspection is also recommended on the collapsed building on the property prior to the building being removed. A Phase II ESA was also performed.
