Additional Property Attributes

Options for remediation and reclamation should include installation of surface water run-on and run-off controls to minimize infiltration of surface water into site tailings and/or waste rock. Run-on controls may include earthen (or other) dikes and ditches that prevent uphill surface water (surface flow from storm events and snowmelt) from flowing onto the site or areas where tailings or waste rock are present. Site grading should direct uphill overland flow of site surface water around any exposed waste rock, protecting the historical mining view of the property. Re-grading and run-on and run-off controls can be accomplished; however, access to exposed waste rock should be restricted for protection of human health (PPF - National Belle Mine, 9/10/07)
