Additional Property Attributes

Property currently includes two office trailers and two interconnected single-story 32,000-square foot buildings. One of the buildings appears to be a warehouse, and the other seems to be a storage building. The site is apparently being used as a cardboard recycling center. The site has historically been used for industrial uses, including A.A. Griffin Iron Company, American Radiator Company, and Motor Front Station. The site also included a full service rail spur from approximately 1896 through 1965. Suggest Phase II because: a sump pump near the loading dock was observed discharging water to the adjoining western property; there is an unidentified metal pipe that may be related to a roof drain system; the site was historically used as a full service rail spur as well as a variety of industrial uses; an adjoining property to the northwest was found in the CERCLIS database but is currently inactive and listed as no further remediation planned (property crushed junk cars, which led to large quantities of fluids draining into the soil); and several upgradient sites were identified as Hudson County Chromate Sites.
