Additional Property Attributes

No evidence was observed during the Phase I ESA for a potential on-site source of contamination. Ground water data were reviewed for an adjacent textile finishing plant with known impact. Available data appear to show that the parking lot site is not impacted by the adjacent contamination.

Former Use: Property is currently vacant. The site was used from 1950s to recent as a paved parking area for semi-trucks and cars by two adjacent textile manufacturing plants. From late-1800s to 1950s, the site was previously occupied by row houses, a church and a kindergarten. The property was previously owned by the adjoining mill operators. The subject site is adjoined on the north by an expansive textile printing and finishing plant with a history of ground water contamination and RCRA generator violations. The subject site is adjoined on the south by a large textile mill with a history of dyeing operations and coal storage, cotton warehouse storage, and a former feed and fertilizer warehouse. The EDR Report identifies an adjacent Texaco gas station to the southwest that is listed in the SC leaking UST database that may be undergoing monitored natural attenuation. The reported ground water flow direction at the Texaco site was to the east in the direction of the subject site. A ground water monitoring well was observed on the subject property.
