Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is located within a fully developed, mixed residential, commercial and industrial area on the south side of the downtown area of the City of Muncie. The Property is approximately 4.18 acres in size and is currently vacant, and includes three standing buildings, foundations of former buildings, construction/demolition debris and abandoned equipment throughout. The Site was occupied by the �Common Sense Engine Co.� in 1892 and 1896 and consisted of a foundry and machine shop and other associated buildings. By 1902 the Site was occupied by �American Lawnmower Co.�, and an additional foundry building was constructed on the west end of the Site. By 1911 the facility was also used as a school furniture manufacturer �Richmond School Furniture�. Several redevelopments building additions and removals occurred between 1911 and 1972 at the Site. The Site appears to have been occupied by �American Lawnmower Co.� and �Richmond School Furniture� throughout this period. The Site was last listed as �Richmond School Furniture� in 1978 and as �American Lawnmower Company� in 1993. The Site is currently owned by Arthur Hicks Jr.
