Mr. Rhodes did not elect to proceed with his participation in the Catawba Region COGs Brownfield Program. No Phase I ESA was conducted on this property.

Former Use: The property is currently unoccupied; however, it contains one small office structure with an associated garage. The previous owner of the property is CJ Melchers Testamentary. The site was utilized for commercial use from the 1960s until the present. Prior to the early 1960s, the site was occupied by row houses. Adjacent to the subject property to the northeast is a printing and finishing plant with a history of ground water contamination and RCRA generator violations. A monitoring well was observed at the upgradient Springs Parking Lot Site at 158 Wilson Street North. No sampling results have been identified for this well. A former textile mill is located southeast of the subject property and has a history of dyeing operations, coal storage, cotton storage, and a former feed and fertilizer warehouse. Additionally, a Texaco gas station located north of the subject property is listed in the LUST database.
