Additional Property Attributes

The Givens property is located in the Old Textile Corridor of Rock Hill, SC. The parcel is occupied by an old distressed structure that is currently vacant. The history of property use is general commercial. No evidence was observed for environmental impact to the site during the Phase I ESA.

Former Use: The property is currently vacant and contains a brick structure that was once the former Saltwater Seafood Market. The property was previously owned by James M. Givens. From the 1960s until the present the property has been utilized for commercial uses. Prior to the early 1960s, the property has contained a single dwelling and has been vacant. Adjacent to the subject property is a former textile mill to the east and a printing and finishing plant to the north. The mill has a history of dyeing operations, coal storage, cotton storage, and a former feed and fertilizer warehouse. The printing and finishing plant has a history of ground water contamination and RCRA generator violations.
