Additional Property Attributes

The Fewell property is located in the distressed Old Textile Corridor of Rock Hill, SC. The parcel has a history of industrial and commercial use; however, it is currently vacant and inactive. History of property use does not suggest high probability for contamination.

Former Use: The property is currently a vacant lot. The York County Property Report does not list a previous owner different from the current owner. It has been utilized for commercial use from the 1960s until the present. Prior to the early 1960s the property was utilized as the Rock Hill Roller Mill, a fertilizer warehouse, the Holy Rollers Chapel, and a grocery. Adjacent properties include a former textile mill located east of the subject property and a printing and finishing plant to the north. The mill has a history of dyeing operations, coal storage, cotton storage, and a former feed and fertilizer warehouse. The printing and finishing plant has a history of ground water contamination and RCRA generator violations.
