Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: A large portion of the 17.7-acre site is wooded and/or wetlands and abuts the Pawtuxet River, but industrial activities have been documented for the site for many years. Most recently, the site was under construction as a concrete plant before construction was halted. The site previously contained one building, and aerial photographs indicated the storage of vehicles, equipment, and soil and debris piles as well as potential dumping throughout the site. Furthermore, according to RIDEM files, petroleum-impacted soil from an on-site underground storage tank UST removed in 1996 has been documented at the site. The City has a plan in place to purchase the property and to preserve the site for open space and potentially redevelop portions of the site for affordable housing use.
