Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site consisted of undeveloped land from at least 1923 until it was improved with the current structure that operated as a retail service station in the 1930s. The service station operated on the northern portion of the site until the 1950s. In the 1940s, the site was also occupied by an automotive sales and service facility until the early 1960s, when the on-site structure was occupied by a grocery store. The grocery store operated until the early 1970s, when the site was occupied by the current owner, Horton Commercial Refrigeration. During the site reconnaissance, a former tank hold was observed in the northern portion of the on-site asphalt parking lot. According to Mr. Jack Horton, site owner, two (2) fiberglass reinforced plastic USTs were removed from the ground in 1975. Mr. Horton further stated that the USTs were associated with the Woodys Grocery Store/Gas Station that previously operated on-site for three to four years in the early 1970s. Additionally, Mr. Horton indicated that two dry cleaning machines, associated with a former coin laundry operation, operated on-site for two to three years in the early 1980s.
