Additional Property Attributes

Tax Parcel 155M C 001 of the subject property is the former location of the 36th Street Landfill. The 36th Street Landfill site was purchased by the City Of Chattanooga in 1960 as an undeveloped parcel of property. The property remained undeveloped until some time in the 1970�s when its southern portion was used as a baseball field. In 1980 the 36th Street Landfill was built and was in operation until 1992. Between 1992 and 1999 the 36th Street Landfill was properly closed and capped under the guidance of TDEC. Tax Parcel 155M C 003: Residential housing occupied the parcel by 1950's and a school was built in the 1960's. Tax Parcel 155M C 003 is the former location of Alton Park Junior High School. The western portion of the Former Alton Park Junior High School building is currently being used as the Alton Park South Side Health Department. The eastern portion of the Former Alton Park Junior High School building is unused with the exception of the City of Chattanooga Police Department utilizing it as a training facility.

Former Use: 155M C 001: construction materials landfill, officially closed in 1999. In Aug. 2009 a phase 2 found SVOCs which necessitated this project.
