Additional Property Attributes

The City conducted a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the redevelopment of a half block on Edgewood Ave. SE in Downtown Atlanta. A previously completed Phase I ESA indicated both soil and groundwater contamination at the site. The Phase II ESA was completed in early 2007. It wasn't until a few more changes in ownership and the growth of Georgia State University campus and the construction of Atlanta's Streetcar that a $33 million mixed-use project with 12,000 square feet of street-level retail and 135 units of university student housing was completed on the site in 2016. Between 2015 and 2019, Fulton County increased the estimated assessed value of the former brownfield from $1.7 million to $21.4 million.
