Additional Property Attributes

Former industrial properties along Atlanta BeltLine's Southside Trail are very attractive for redevelopment. The nearly 10-acre site at 1099 Boulevard SE is no exception. Construction of over 300 residential units and 15,000 square feet of commercial space is nearing completion on the brownfield. The City's Brownfield Program conducted a ground penetrating radar to help clarify potential issues lingering from the property's use as a landfill in the 1950s before any redevelopment in 2007. The Trust for Public Land previously commissioned a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment in 2006. While residents and businesses will soon be moving in, next door the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. are creating a 20-acre park dubbed Boulevard Crossing Park. And, immediately on the other side of the BeltLine, the City has recently rezoned another industrial property to allow for 350 additional residential units and 18,000 more square feet of ground-level commercial space.

Former Use: Past use include landfill of construction materials. And, storage for utility vehicles and material, car junkyard and storage for construction materials.
