Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Information presented in Historical Sanborn Fire Insurance maps and historical topographic maps indicate the property was likely used as part of the Dayton Walther Foundry, which is located directly across Highland Avenue from the Site. The 1950 and 1955 Historical Sanborn Fire Insurance maps identified the two structures on the Site as auto repair facilities. According to the historical topographic and subsequent Sandborn Fire Insurace maps, the structures were no longer present after 1962. Dalton Steel Foundry deeded the Site to East Central Properties (Muncie Recycling Center) in 1998, who subsequently deeded the Site to Mr. John Peloquin in 2001. The Site is currently vacant. Apparent foundry sand was noted across the property during the Phase I ESA site inspection and during the previous Phase II Site Investigation activity. Metal debris is present buried in the foundry sand fill piles at the Site.
