Additional Property Attributes

Site had an abandoned, partially demolished building, with exposed asbestos containing materials (ACMs). This ACM was present for the last 8 years, on the main street of this community. The local area economic development agency, the Charles City Area Development Corporation (CCADC), acquired the site after conducting all appropriate inquiries; this grant was used to conduct the Phase I to meet the basic All Appropriate Inquiry and due diligence test prior to site ownership being obtained. (8/15/08 PPF) This grant was also used to match CCADC's funds to facilitate the proper cleanup and disposal of the ACMs at the site. The site has now been cleared, backfilled, and is available for commercial redevelopment. This will assist in keeping the vitality of the central business district, while removed a public health hazard that the ACMs present. (9/12/08 PPF)
