Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: During the 1940s, the western bank of the Seekonk River, including the Site and the surrounding area, particularly to the north, were filled with non-native material to increase land area. This material has been observed to contain construction/demolition debris and rubbish commingled throughout typical urban fill material. Previous investigations have shown that this material contained concentrations of lead and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) above the RIDEM Residential Direct Exposure Criteria. These standards are applicable given the future recreational use of the Site. Fill material was noted to a depth of approximately 10 ft below ground surface throughout the Site. No contaminants of concern have been detected in Site groundwater. Access to the Site is currently limited by fencing on the northern and southern site boundaries. The fill material is heavily vegetated at this time to prevent access and further illegal dumping on the property.
