Property Highlights

The property is the site of the former Pruitt Igoe Housing Complex located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Jefferson and Cass Avenue. The site is contaminated with petroleum products, presumably from historic gasoline station use. Trenching investigation of basements did not encounter asbestos, boiler tanks, or fuel tanks as previously suspected. Site is currently enrolled in Missouri B/VCP and all findings have been forwarded to Missouri Department of Natural Resources for concurrence and recommendations.

Former Use: Former Pruitt Igoe Public Housing project demolished in 1974. Tier I Risk assessment done in 2009 revealed groundwater and soil contamination are not an issue for non-residential use.
