Property Highlights

Site was used as a gas station and then as a storage facility for coal gas and natural gas. One UST has been found as well as two metallic cylinders of unknown former use. Various scrap metal, reinforced concrete, piping, and rubble were found in test pits.

Former Use: Former service station with USTs. On June 17, 2010, SLDC subgranted up to 40,000 to LRA for remediation of the site. Three 3,000-gallon tanks and 75 tons of contaminated soil were removed. Free product removal & risk assessment are complete. The improvements for the Ville Commission Neighborhood Community Garden included: removal and installation of sidewalks, installation of the driveway slab, new yard hydrant, and planting of trees and installation of planter beds. LRA received a No Further Action Letter for the site from Missouri Dept of Natural Resources on Feb 3, 2011. Groundwater is not checked as being "Cleaned UP" because during tank removal, groundwater did not recharge into the final excavation after 24 hours.
