Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Simmons Field is currently used for recreational purposes. The Property consists of two baseball diamonds, a football field, locker rooms, concession stand, announcer�s booth, and grandstands. The Property is located in a mixed land use area that includes commercial, light industrial, and residential properties, and is bounded on the north and northwest by the Ottawa River and the City of Lima greenspace and bike path. Residential properties along Heindel Avenue and Kibby Street bound the Property to the east and south respectively. The City of Lima Safety City Park and South Collett Street bound the Property to the west. Simmons Field was originally owned and operated as a quarry by the Lima Stone Company and sold to the City of Lima in 1935. Following the development of the recreational park, the City of Lima sold the property to the Lima City School District in 1979. In 1999 the School District sold the property back to the City of Lima, who has remained the property owner to the present.
