Property Highlights

Former Use: The Property is located in an area which includes industrial, commercial, and residential development in Youngstown, Ohio and is bounded by Logan Avenue to the west, Crab Creek to the east, and Hubbard Road to the north. Currently, the Property is occupied by an inactive industrial building complex. The Property slopes gently to the southeast (towards Crab Creek), and the average elevation is approximately 880 ft msl. The area adjacent to Crab Creek is vegetated with brush and small trees. Surface water and ground water flow are towards the east/southeast. The Property was developed for commercial and residential land use by 1907. Former commercial operations included a former coal-related business (1917), the Youngstown Ice Company (1920), and the Youngstown Building Material & Fuel Company (YBM; early 1940s through 2001). A railroad (spur) was constructed on the Property in the 1920s. The current owner, the City of Youngstown Land Reutilization Program, obtained ownership of the Property from YBM in 2002.
