Additional Property Attributes

The Presto property is a residential site located in the Old Textile Corridor in Rock Hill, SC. The existing dwelling is not inhabitable. The parcel is located adjacent to a textile finishing plant with known ground water contamination; however, available data appears to show that the Presto parcel should not be impacted.

Former Use: The property has a vacant residential building erected in the early 1900s that is in disrepair. The building faces a state-equivalent Superfund site that operated as the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing plant which bleached and dyed fabrics. This finishing plant is located across the street from the subject property and has a history of ground water contamination and RCRA generator violations. The general area is described by an employee for the City of Rock Hill as blighted and underfunctioning. Additionally, there is a mill to the south that has a history of dyeing operations, coal storage, cotton storage, and a former feed and fertilizer warehouse.
