Property Highlights

Adjoining properties were part of the original property entered by Mr. Blanton. Parts of those properties showed signs of contamination, and were assessed for the Brownfields Program. Those properties were sold by Mr. Blanton to other entities. The property remaining in his name, the property in these enrollment documents, showed no signs of historic contamination, and so was not included in the original assessment activities. No assessment activities will be performed on this property by the OCC Brownfields Program because, due to the property?s natural separation (creek) from the contamination source on the property now (December 2017) owned by Marathon and lack of historic oil wells, there is no reason to believe there is contamination on site. Former Use: It belonged to the Yeager family for most of its history after the land run of 1889. During that time, our records and aerial archives show that there was oil and gas activities occurring on the land from the late 1920's until the 1970's. There were many pits in the aerial photos, which appear to be the major source of the present contamination.
