Additional Property Attributes

Historical operation on the subject property included a gasoline filling station in the 1950s. The filling station was historically located on the western portion of the subject property along with an underground storage tank (UST). One leaking UST (LUST)incident has been reported for the release of fuel oil on July 9, 2001. The incident remains open and is considered a recognized environmental condition. However, during the site visit there were no evidence of the UST and below-ground components of the former dispenser system and associated curbings.

Former Use: The subject property is currently owned by the City of Rockford and consists of an open vegetated lot to the west and a parking lot to the east. The parking lot is currently utilized by the adjacent business owner of West State Currency Exchange. The City of Rockford purchased the subject property on September 2000. In the 1950s, the subject property was utilized as a service station. From 1965 to 1983, the subject property was utilized as a food store and parking area, according to the city directory.
