The Storcella site is one of three Nottingham Way Sites within the Assunpink Creek neighborhood of East Trenton - a neighborhood characterized by 19th-early 20th century heavy industry that was located here to access the creek. . Thirteen brownfield sites owned by the City of Trenton border the Assunpink Creek and together comprise the Assunpink Creek Greenway Project, a major City effort to acquire, assess, and remediate properties along the waterway and transform them into 99 linear acres of urban parks, trails, and active recreational fields. Former Use: Former use of the site included Textile manufacturing (1890-1920), Murray Rubber Co. (1920-1941), machine manufacturing (1955-1980) and Storcella machine shop and repairs(1983-2003). When the City acquired the site in 2003, there were three buildings on the site including a 2-story warehouse, an office building and a storage shed. These buildings were demolished in 2010.
