Additional Property Attributes

The Jeremiah Project, Inc. requested this TBA as a pre-requisite to enter into a Voluntary Cleanup Contract with SCDHEC. This site is appended to the site of one of the oldest textile facilities in the U.S., operating from 1902 until November 2003. The site is located upstream from the site of manufacturing operations and never was, to the applicants knowledge, involved in manufacturing operations. The site has served as a golf course, ball fields, and most recently as a pine forest. The Jeremiah Project will work with Greenville County Recreation District to establish publicly accessible walking trails with kiosks interpreting the value of wetlands, riparian buffers, the areas history, etc., to be used by the general public, schools, and universities research/teaching programs. Ultimately the trail will be connected via an additional length of trail along Langston Creek to serve as a spur trail of the Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Trail. Title to the site will be passed ultimately to GCRD, Friends of the Reedy River, or similar entity.

Former Use: Property is the undeveloped portion of a former textile mill. Seven parcels that made up the mill total 257.003 acres. Developed portions of the property (locations of former mill operations) have a long regulatory history with SCDHEC. Current owner (at time of Phase I) listed as: American Fast Print 409 Pettigrew Street Greenville, SC 29601
