Additional Property Attributes

A drycleaner operated on this property from approximately 1935 to 1975. There is a high probability that the cleaner utilized chlorinated solvents in the cleaning process. Chlorinated solvents are denser than water and tend to travel down until they reach an impermeable layer. This investigation did not find indications of chlorinated solvents beneath the site. Tiles of a type known to contain asbestos are in the building. Rules governing the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing material should be followed during demolition. DEQ recommends a licensed asbestos inspector to examine the tiles and provide recommendations for disposal. (PPF - First Baptist Church of Sulphur proposed storage area)

Former Use: upholstery shop, craft store, dry cleaning facility for 40 years, assumed chlorinated solvents may have been used
