Additional Property Attributes

Brockton will cleanup the property and redevelop it into an indoor sports complex for local youth and other purposes. This project will meet a self-identified need in the community for an indoor sports and recreational complex. The MA Executive Office of Environmental Affairs conducted a partial cleanup in 2003, removing asbestos and debris piles. A local company demolished the onsite building as a SEP. (PPF attached to QRs 2-5, 1/1/04-12/31/04) Brockton will clean up the property and redevelop it into an indoor sports complex for local youth and for other purposes. This project will meet a self-identified need in the community for an indoor sports and recreational complex. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs conducted a partial cleanup in 2003, removing asbestos and debris piles. A local company demolished the onsite building as a SEP. (PPF - Montello Auto Body, 1/25/05) The city issued a Request for Proposals for a developer to redevelop the property with a sports complex. One developer was selected and is in the process of seeking financing. Further information will be submitted as available. (PPF - Montello Auto Body, 12/29/06)

Former Use: The Montello Auto Body Shop was on the property - 1950s-90s. Past uses include construction business, vehicle storage and junkyard. The city took the property for tax foreclosure. (PPF - Montello Auto Body, 12/29/2006)
