Additional Property Attributes

The property is owned by the City of Lenoir, which is dedicated to the redevelopment of this property for productive re-use. Redevelopment includes the removal of debris piles from former recycling operation, clean-up of remaining buildings and associated ACM, additional Phase II testing, and the execution of a Brownfield agreement with NC DEQ.

Former Use: The factory was operated most recently by the Broyhill Furniture Company until 2007. In 2009, the property was sold to Applied Abatement Concepts.The site was formerly used as a furniture factory beginning in the early 1900s. The factory was operated most recently by the Broyhill Furniture Company until 2007. In 2009, the property was sold to Applied Abatement Concepts, which intended to demolish existing structures to sell for scrap and turn the site into a recycling center. The site owner has demolished most structures and has abandoned redevelopment plans.
