Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in a utility corridor between 107 and 109 Hampton Street in Rock Hill, York County, SC. A 2,000 gallon unregulated UST that formerly contained heating oil was discovered by utility workers during their initial work being conducted in the utility corridor. A developer plans to use the corridor to relocate utilities, bury electric lines and serve as additional parking for the development. It was necessary to remove the UST so the soil beneath could be adequately assessed. Soil samples collected from beneath the UST contained VOCs and PAHs at concentrations that exceeded the SCDHEC UST Management Division's Risk Based Screening Levels for clay-rich soils less than 10 feet below ground surface. Contaminated soils were removed by the property owner. Soil and groundwater samples collected from a newly installed monitoring well located downgradient of the former UST did not contain VOCs or PAHs at concentrations exceeing their respective reporting limits.
