Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Garbose Metal Recyclery operated on this site (4 parcels) from 1961-1998. The property has been vacant except for two buildings, garage, and an office. The owner has spent close to 100K of his own money to remediate the site and bring it back to a re-usable status. In 2005, the site was accepted into the EPA's Targeted Brownfields Assessment program. In 2012, the Gardner Redevelopment Authority took ownership of the property with the goal of completing the necessary assessment and cleanup activities. The site is targeted for redevelopment for retail use consistent with the City's Mill Street Corridor Urban Renewal Plan.
