Additional Property Attributes

On behalf of U.S. EPA, Tetra Tech START performed a Phase II ESA through the Targeted Brownfields Assessment program Technical Directive Document (TDD) No. 0003/S05-0003-1703-200. This property was initiated as "Millennium Project" with ACRES ID 13816.

Former Use: The property is currently vacant. Operations began at the site in the 1950s. Operations included research, pilot-scale research, storage, maintenance or related functions. The Subject Property operated under numerous names during this time, including National Distillers Chemical Corporation, U.S. Industrial Chemicals, Inc. Research Division, Quantum Chemical Corporation, and Millennium Petrochemicals, Inc. Laboratory operations ceased at the property in the early 1990s. The University of Cincinnati College of Engineering leased portions of buildings 1, 2, and 4 through 1999. Former employee David Kreuzmann purchased the property with an acquaintance (Carl Woerner) in 2003. Mr. Kreuzmann bought out Mr. Woerner in 2013 and sold it to the current owners in July 2015 but stayed on as a tenant in Buildings 4, 5, and 14. Mr. Kreuzmann utilizes the buildings and the paved areas between for vehicle storage and maintenance. The property is currently in a state of disrepair - roofs are leaking causing water damage in many buildings, and some roofs have caved in completely. Vandals have removed much of the suspected asbestos-containing thermal systems insulation (TSI), leaving it on the floors and furniture. Large debris piles exist throughout Buildings 1 - these piles consist mainly of water damaged ceiling tiles and TSI.
