Additional Property Attributes

Subject site occipies approximately 11.36 acres. It is comprised of 1 parcel fronting GA Highway 17. The property has one primary structure, a concrete building constructed between 1963 and 1971 measuring 161' x 226' (36,386 sq ft) with a brick and glass front facade. There are gaps in the ceiling where the roof has fallen in. The interior of the building is in disrepair. An addition was added sometime between 1977 and 1988, approximately 4,000sq ft in size. It is located at the west wall of the original building and was constructed to be 30' tall to facilitate operation of an overhead crane. The remainder of the site consists of open fields/lawn areas and an undeveloped wooded area which extends to contiguous properties located both west and south of the property. A former AST area is located east of the building, adjacent to Airport Road. The ASTs have been removed but the containment area is still present. In 2008, EPA Emergency Response conducted an assessment of the site and in 2010 conducted a removal action to address PCB-contaminated soil. All outstanding issues relating to the removal action were resolved prior to expending Brownfields money.

Former Use: Site is currently vacant but previously operated as a manufacturer and refurbisher of transformers from 1970 until 1987,
