Additional Property Attributes

The subject site occupies approximately 2.9 acres. It is comprised of 1 parcel of property bordered to the south by Warner Street SW, Allene Avenue SW to the east, a large vacant industrial property to the west and a large records and archive building to the north. The surface is covered with asphalt to the south and east of the single building on the site. The site building is a single-story, square shaped, approximately 23,000 square feet warehouse space. Near the northeast corner of the site building is a 30' tall grain silo, out of service. There is a loading dock area along the south wall of the site building. Former Use: Site is currently occupied by "The Bakery". Historically, it was developed as early as 1927 as a structural and ornamental steel company. Cleanup documents, including a QAPP and ABCA were developed to assist with a cleanup under the City's RLF grant.
A cleanup for lead-impacted soils took place from November 30, 2021 through December, 10, 2021, funded through an RLF subgrant. During the soil cleanup, approximately 1,000 tons of impacted soil were excavated and replaced with clean backfill. The site is being redeveloped as the future headquarters for Trees Atlanta.
