Additional Property Attributes

The subject site occupies approximately 30.35 acres adjacent and on the South Catawba Fork River. It is comprised of two areas separated by the South Fork Catawba River. The former facility portion of the property is approximately 18 acres and is covered in construction debris, the result of fires that destroyed the facility structures, and vegetation. The ?island? is a 12 acres shoal located south of the former facility on the South Fork Catawba River. It is undeveloped and heavily wooded.

Former Use: The site is currently vacant. Historically, it was an iron works from (1805-1875), a textiles mill (1901-1987) and a warehouse (1995-2005). A series of fires (1996, 2001, 2005) eventually destroyed all buildings.
