Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Bloomfield West Property (Parcel R4005131) assessment focused on one parcel totaling 6.63-acres. The site operated as the Former Aerex Refinery from approximately 1932 to the 1960s and was dismantled in the 1980s. The property is currently vacant with no structures other than two concrete foundations. The Phase I ESA found the following RECs: since the subject property previously operated as part of the same refinery that was located on the adjacent east parcel, impacted soil and groundwater associated with former activities is not known. The Phase II ESA field work included a ground penetrating radar survey, passive and active soil gas sampling, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling. Based on the findings, the residential, industrial/occupational, and construction worker pathways for the West Parcel are incomplete. The soil leaching to groundwater pathway is potentially complete with respect to Total Analyte List metals; however, the Volatile Organic Compounds that exceeded the New Mexico Environment Department Soil Screening Levels Dilution Attenuation Factor 20 (DAF-20) in soil samples were not present in any groundwater samples collected. Contamination present in groundwater is a result of a release from the Bloomfield Crude Station site and is considered trespasser contamination. Further assessment or cleanup of the West Parcel is not required.
