Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is bounded on the west by a vacant residence and on the east by a residence, and further east and west by a former mechanic shop and a former welding shop, respectively. To the north, across Cerra Andino Street, sits the old wall that separated this community from the former railroad tracks and maintenance yard; the community where the subject property is located was named Tras Talleres, Spanish for "behind train maintenance yard." According to information gathered by community members and architecture students from the Polytechnic University, in the 19th century, this neighborhood was part of a farm called Sabana del Carrasquillo. The subject property has been vacant for more than 30 years, but it was rescued by community leaders that want to establish the Museum of the Memory of Tras Talleres to commemorate their heritage. The subject property consists of an outside area and three?story building.
