Additional Property Attributes

Property owned by LRA for Roosevelt Roads. The User has a long-term lease agreement. Operated as a golf course for military use until it closed in 2004. The subject property operated as the golf course for the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station. Significant areas of environmental concern have been identified associated with past operations at the naval station, including past releases from product storage tanks and associated sludge burial pits resulting in groundwater plumes of phase separated petroleum hydrocarbons and dissolved petroleum contaminants. A chlorinated solvent groundwater plume was also identified. Two unlined landfills are present that have been closed since the 50s/60s, as well as a third unlined solid waste landfill in operation since the 60s. A power plant is present that was a source of PCBs in concrete surfaces and also contributed to PCB-contaminated soils. Other RECs identified include storage tanks, hazardous substances, drums, staining, a sump, and debris piles. Other items of concern were potential LBP, ACMs, and mold.
