Additional Property Attributes

The property is located in downtown Wailuku on the island of Maui, Hawai'i. Affordable housing is needed in Maui as housing prices have significantly increased across the island. The property has two office buildings, two residential buildings, parking areas and open land. The buildings were built before the ban on asbestos and lead in building materials. Prior to development, the property was potentially used for sugarcane farming. The open area on the property is one of the few areas in downtown Wailuku where housing could be built. The property is owned by the Wailuku Union Church. Hui Kauhale, Inc. and the Wailuku Union Church plan to build affordable housing units in the open area of the property. They may also remodel or demolish the buildings on the property.
