Additional Property Attributes

The Site is located in the town of Nixon, Washoe County, Nevada. Land use in Nixon is a mixture of low-density, single-family homes intermixed with commercial and institutional properties. This Site generally adjoins minimally vegetated vacant lots, residential dwellings, and commercial structures. The White Building is a wood structure approximately 3,900 square feet in size. It is presently located on a 0.8-acre lot located at 303 Highway 447. According to PLPT, the White Building was first opened as a school in 1879 and has been used as a tribal council hall, community center, and school. The building was moved more than once and was brought to its present location in the early 1960s. It is currently vacant and dilapidated, and was reportedly last used as a school.
