Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site was occupied by Capital City Oil Mill until around 1923. The dock was constructed in the 1920s and was used as a port until around 1960. A storm water pump station is located near the center of the property. The pump station is used for drainage of stormwater from downtown Baton Rouge into the Mississippi River. The docks have been vacant since the 1960s. The dock structure is still in place (PPF - Baton Rouge Municipal Dock, 7/19/06).
