Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property formerly housed the Crim Theatre. The building was reportedly constructed in 1939, and covers all but five feet of the property. The theater consists of a lobby area with ticket windows and storage rooms, a second story lobby area with theater balcony access, and a third story projection room and balcony access at the front (northwest) of the theater. The first floor theater seating area is accessed by double doors from the lobby. Seats have been removed but the concrete sloping floor remains. A stage area is present at the southeast end of the building where the movie screen would have been. A metal roll-up door has been cut into the back of the stage area to provide access to equipment that was used to remove seating and debris from the theater after damage from a leaking roof. An earthen ramp that was used for heavy equipment access remains from the stage to the theater floor. The roof has been replaced. Two doors at the rear (southeast and south) corners of the theater provide outside access. A wooden stairway near the south door leads to a second story mechanical room behind the stage area. Three boarded windows and two vents to this room are visible on the exterior of the building, and a steel beam used to hoist equipment into the room is visible. A vent stack is visible on the roof.
