Additional Property Attributes

This 1.75-acre site is located in an agricultural and industrial section of the City of Rutland. The property was used as farmland until 1934 when a slaughterhouse was established. These operations lasted until 2006 when a fire destroyed the main structure on site. In 2008, the property was enrolled in the Brownfields Program and a Phase I ESA was conducted on behalf of the City of Rutland. Information from the Phase I ESA was used to facilitate resale at a City of Rutland Tax Sale in 2009.

Former Use: The property has been developed as a slaughterhouse since at least 1934 and was likely farmland prior to the slaughterhouse. There was a residential apartment on-site within the slaughterhouse building, which was discontinued in 1998/1999. In July of 2006, a fire destroyed the building.
