Additional Property Attributes

Assessments were conducted at the subject site because the current owner is interested in donating the property to the City of Millen. The City of Millen would like to construct a parking area for local businesses including the subject property owner's business located on an adjacent property.

Former Use: The subject site contained a stable in 1917 associated with several other stables and barns located on adjacent properties used to sell feed and livestock. The subject site was commercially developed in the mid-1950s with a fish market. The fish market operated until the mid-1980s when the building was demolished and relocated to the property adjacent to the subject site. The site has remained undeveloped land since the mid-1970s. RECs identify at the subject site include an up-gradient former gas station and a cross-gradient dry cleaner located approximately 150 feet west of the subject site. The former gas station is currently in the Brownfield program and has known petroleum impacted soil and ground water.
