Additional Environmental Concerns No REC: The building structure appears to possess lead-based paint and/or asbestos containing materials, based on two reports provided by the school system and the fact the building was constructed around 1939. Complete aThe building structure could possess lead-based paint and/or asbestos containing materials, based on the fact the building was constructed around 1938. Assessments for these materials should be performed prior to acquisition due to restrictions if the building is to be reused, renovated, or demolished. Fluorescent light ballasts may utilize PCB-containing fluids, and should be inspected/assessed as the ballasts or fixtures are removed for disposal. PCB-containing paint and lead-based solder in drinking water piping may have been used during the construction of the building, and should be evaluated to identify their presence.
