Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site was developed as a paper mill in approximately 1852, and the existing mill building was constructed in approximately 1873. The Rising Paper Company is reported to have occupied the property as early as 1899. The Strathmore Paper Company reportedly purchased the property in 1928, but retained the Rising Paper name. In 1988, the Fox Valley Corporation purchased the property, and was forced to sell it to the Neenah Paper Company in March of 2007. The Neenah Paper Company shut down operations at the mill, and left the property vacant for more than a year. The current owner, the Hazen Paper Company, purchased the property in August of 2008.
