Additional Property Attributes

The Yurok Tribe acquired the Subject Property in 1996. Historically, logging companies have had rights to the land for access roads and logging purposes. The Subject Property became the site of illegal dumping and illegal residences and campsites. It was purported that possible methamphetamine manufacturing may have occurred on the property. Up to five illegal burn areas and three illegal dumpsites were noted on the property. In 2008, the Tribe and the California Integrated Waste Management Board conducted a cleanup that yielded over 168 tons of solid waste, 145 cars, appliances, CRTs, and hazardous materials. A large tank that may have been a former UST is located on the property. It is labeled "potable water". The origin of the tank is unknown. It is important to note that cleanup activities conducted onsite to date did not address any environmental concerns associated with soil, surface or groundwater contamination that could be present.

Former Use: Formally a private residence. Purchased by the Yurok Tribe in 1996 from Gregory J. Koppala and R. Cook Enterprises. Currently the property is undeveloped.
