Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: General Site Description: Former Quality Exxon facility Site Address: 601 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, Washington County, TN Property Size: approximately 0.52 acres Past Ownership: Michael Garner Automotive service stations have operated on the subject site since the late 1920s up to 2001. The facility was last used for commercial truck leasing and a parking lot. The property has been vacant for a period of several years. The City of Johnson City purchased the property in 2008 at a tax sale. The UST database indicates the registration of four USTs of unspecified capacity for the subject facility. The USTs are listed as temporarily out of service. The HIST UST database provides further detail listing two 8,000-gallon and one 6,000-gallon gasoline USTs that were installed on May 7, 1981. These USTs are constructed of fiberglass reinforced plastic FRP with FRP supply lines. The HIST UST database also lists a 4,000-gallon diesel UST constructed of cathodically-protected steel with FRP supply lines that were installed on October 29, 1993. This database lists each tank status as currently in use however, other TDEC records indicate that the tanks have not been actively operated in several years. The LUST database shows that a UST release incident was investigated at the site for which the case was closed by the TDEC Division of USTs DUST. As described in more detail in Section 4.2 below, DUST records indicate that the incident case was closed and transferred to the TDEC Division of Solid Waste Management DSWM when it was determined that the source of the contamination was an unregulated heating oil UST.
