Additional Property Attributes

The Teacher's Housing site is located north of a trail that runs approximately east-west between the new school's teacher's housing and the New Stuyahok store. A local resident stated during the site investigation that waste was dumped in a natural ravine trendin north-south toward the creek to the north. One lead-acid battery was observed near the top of the dumpsite. A mounded area just north of the exposed battery had other batteries that were buried. Other exposed waste included two small appliances possibly wood stoves near the bottom of the hill, two propane tanks, empty 55-gallon drums and other empty metal containers.

Former Use: The Teacher's Housing site is located in a wooded drainage northeast of the new teacher's housing. The current owner of this property is Stuyahok Limited. The landfill site have been traditionally used for several subsistence activities including berry picking, greens harvesting, rabbit snaring, bird hunting, moose and caribou hunting, and fishing.
