Additional Property Attributes

Noyes Slough central location in Fairbanks provides an accessible and scenic summer and winter recreational area. The Tanana Valley Watershed Association is actively involved with the effort to revitalize Noyes Slough. Fairbanks residents as well as local, state and federal agencies have been concerned about potential contamination and hydrologic conditions in Noyes Slough for several years. Noyes Slough has been listed on EPA's 303d list of impaired water bodies since 1994. Groundwater and stormwater runoff from storm drains are primary sources of water in the slough, receiveing little or no flow to the Chena River. Several beaver dams exist on the slough, reducing flow in the channel and creating sediment depositional areas on the upstream side of the dams.
