Additional Property Attributes

The assessment revealed no evidence of recognized environmental conditions in connection with the property. However, there were three environmental issues identified. Based on the age of the subject building, there is a potential for the presence of lead-based paint, asbestos-containing materials, and radon gas. It was recommended that appropriate investigations be conducted to confirm or deny the presence.

Former Use: The property is located in a mixed industrial, commercial, and residential area of Wayne Township, inside the limits of the Town of Speedway. The site is owned by the Arlene Price Living Trust and is currently being leased by Jaades Consignment Shop and Lee's Barbershop. The site appears to have been developed as early as 1915 with one two-story structure at 1500 Main Street. Usage at that time included a restaurant and office space. According to City Directory listings, similar uses prevailed with residential listings for the upper floor starting in approximately 1945. A dry cleaners listing was reported at the Site from around 1945 to approximately 1949. However, additional information about the cleaners yielded no results. Consequently, the listing was considered to be of no concern.
